Turn a supplier price in USD, CNY or EUR into the true cost per unit delivered to your warehouse: exchange rate, freight, insurance, customs duty where it applies, import GST and local port and delivery charges. Then price from the right number. Free, no signup, nothing leaves your browser.
Landed cost per unit = (goods in S$ + freight + insurance + customs duty + local charges + import GST if you cannot claim it) ÷ units. Import GST in Singapore is 9% of the CIF value plus duty; GST-registered importers claim it back, so for them it is cash flow, not cost.
Example: 1,200 units at US$8.50 (S$1.35), S$1,800 freight, S$60 insurance and S$450 local charges land at S$13.40 a unit, 16.8% above the S$11.48 supplier price.

Worked example: 1,200 units at US$8.50 with the dollar at S$1.35 is S$13,770 of goods. Add S$1,800 freight and S$60 insurance for a CIF value of S$15,630, no duty, and S$450 of local charges: S$16,080 landed, or S$13.40 a unit. The supplier price alone was S$11.48, so the true cost is 16.8% higher. Import GST of S$1,406.70 is paid at import and claimed back.
If a price list was built from supplier prices, every margin in it is overstated by the uplift. At a target margin of 30%, S$11.48 of cost says sell at S$16.40; S$13.40 of cost says S$19.14. On 1,200 units that is S$3,290 of margin that was never there. The free profit margin calculator reprices a whole list once you know the landed cost, and the price increase calculator shows the new price when freight or FX moves.
One container usually carries many SKUs. Spread freight and local charges by value (fair when items are similar), by weight or volume (fair when heavy or bulky items dominate the freight bill), or by unit count (simple, and wrong when items differ a lot). Whichever you pick, use it consistently so margins by product are comparable month to month.
For costing, the rate you paid the supplier is the honest one. For quoting before you buy, use today's rate plus a buffer that matches how long you hold stock; a distributor on 45-day terms holding 3 months of stock is exposed for months, not days. Record the rate on every purchase so landed cost is not recomputed from memory later.
How do you calculate landed cost per unit? Add the goods in your currency, freight, insurance, any customs duty, local handling and delivery, and import GST if you cannot claim it back, then divide by the number of units.
Is import GST part of landed cost in Singapore? Only if you are not GST registered. Registered importers pay 9% on CIF plus duty at import and claim it back in their GST return, so it affects cash flow but not the cost of goods.
What is CIF value? Cost, insurance and freight: the value of the goods plus the insurance and freight to bring them to Singapore. Customs duty and import GST are calculated on CIF (plus duty for GST).
Do I pay customs duty on imports into Singapore? For most goods, no. Duty applies to intoxicating liquor, tobacco, motor vehicles and petroleum products. Check your tariff code with Singapore Customs before assuming zero.
